Mobile Health Clinics Reach Remote Communities

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

AWOCHI Launches Mobile Health Clinics to Serve Liberia’s Remote Communities

Monrovia, Liberia – [Date] – The African Women & Children Empowerment Initiative (AWOCHI) has launched an innovative Mobile Health Clinic program to bring essential medical care to some of Liberia’s most underserved rural communities.

For decades, remote villages have faced serious barriers to healthcare—long travel distances, poor road networks, and limited access to medical facilities. AWOCHI’s Mobile Health Clinics are bridging this gap by delivering primary healthcare, maternal and child health services, and vital health education directly to households in need.

“This initiative is about more than healthcare—it’s about hope,” said a representative from AWOCHI. “For many families, this is the first time they’ve received care without risking long and difficult journeys. We are saving lives, one visit at a time.”

Key Program Features

  • Primary Care – Treatment for common illnesses such as malaria, respiratory infections, and diarrheal diseases.
  • Maternal & Child Health – Prenatal check-ups, child immunizations, and nutrition screenings.
  • Health Education – Teaching hygiene practices and disease prevention methods to improve long-term community well-being.

Early Impact

Since its launch, the program has reached hundreds of households in Montserrado County and surrounding regions. Local families report improved access to treatment and an increase in timely healthcare interventions, particularly for pregnant women and young children.

One local mother shared, “Before, I had to walk for hours when my child was sick. Now, the clinic comes to us. It has saved lives in our village.”

Future Plans

AWOCHI intends to expand the Mobile Health Clinics to additional counties, increase the frequency of visits, and partner with donors and local health authorities to ensure long-term sustainability.
